Maine for the Holidays

So I am leaving here in about an hour to make the long journey up to Maine. Nathan and I are driving to Knoxville, where we are staying with one of my bestest friends Christie. Then tomorrow morning we are going to stop off in Greeneville and pick up Nathan's sister Clare from school, then make our next stop in Harrisonburg, VA, where we will stay with some of their friends. After that, I believe our next stop is somewhere in Connecticut, then on to Maine. Now granted we will have to actually stop multiple times throughout the trip, because let's be honest, I have a small bladder. But with that being said, we should be at their house in Maine by Friday night. Which brings me to my next point...sadness.
Don't get me wrong, I am very excited to be spending the holidays with Nathan's family up in Maine, but I am a little (ok a lot) sad that I won't be here with my family on Christmas. Thankfully my family has been really understanding about it, but I'm still gonna miss them like crazy. I mean, I'm not coming home until January.
But back to the bright side. I will, more than likely, get a white Christmas. So for that, I am pumped. I promise when I get back I will make a nice pretty post with lots of nice pretty pictures. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!!

A New Chapter is Concluded

So I have recently played in my final collegiate soccer game ever. And to most that may have shed a tear for me...please don't. I'm really okay, I'm really not that sad. Don't get me wrong, I loved playing soccer for the last 19 years of my life, but it was just time to move on. I have a graduation and a wedding to look forward to, and knowing that I don't have to have soccer practice all the time is a glorious feeling. It may hit my one day that I am no longer a soccer player, and it may hit me hard. But as of now, I'm fine and looking forward to starting my future...:)

Hi My Name is Jessie and...

I'M ADDICTED TO CHERRY COKE ZERO!!!!!!

I feel it is okay for me to admit this on here since none of my close-knit soccer community even know I have a blog. You see, I am in soccer season, and therefore should probably not be drinking carbonated beverages of any kind. But I just can't seem to help myself. And let's be honest, it's not only Cherry Coke Zero that has my affection, but Dr. Pepper as well. What can I say...I'm smitten.

And changing subjects, I have a really cool sister. She wrote a whole blog about me and even had a list of reasons that she loved me. I'm not really that creative, but I do have a few things to say:

1. She is pretty cool.
2. She is pretty much my idol.
3. She pretty much rocks.
4. She is pretty...period.
5. She loves me despite all my many imperfections.
6. She makes me want to be a better person.
7. She, too, enjoys Cherry Coke Zero.
8. She always has my back.
9. She makes fun of me all the time...and yet I still love her.
10. She is my sister...the end.

Oh and I am changing subjects again. My wedding dress came in!!! It is now hidden somewhere in my house where Nathan can't find it...:)

Dear Mr. Spider,

You think you are all big and bad scaring me like that. First of all, it was after midnight and I was just trying to go to the bathroom. And for you to run across the mirror like that, and for you to even make me question what I saw because I didn't have my glasses on just wasn't cool. Then, you made me go put my glasses on and attempt to find something to smash you with. But if we are being honest here, I probably never would have smashed you. After standing there for a good 20 minutes trying to summon the courage not to be a coward, I would have just put something over you (like a cup) and waited for Nathan to come get you today. But you cheated. You took that nasty multi-colored body and somehow, someway, slid under the baseboards on the wall. That is not possible. But no, you didn't win. Your legs were still sticking out and I smushed (this is a word in my dictionary) those things to oblivion. But apparently you can still live without some of your legs. So I quickly got the Raid and sprayed you til you died. The end.

P.S. I do realize in all my glory that this spider was not at all very big and could have done minimal to no damage to me whatsoever.

P.P.S. I finally figured out how to add a picture on here. But I wasn't sure everyone wanted a giant picture of a spider on here and it was taking forever and I have to go to class. Maybe I will add it later!

P.P.P.S I really don't have anything to say here, just reminiscing about writing letters to our friends and having like fourteen p.s.'s...oh the good times.

Dresses Galore...(and a few tuxes thrown in)

My wedding dress in now purchased!!! I would link all of my faithful followers (I believe there are now 3 of you) to a picture, but Nathan knows I have a blog and I wouldn't want to tempt him into finding a picture of the dress. But I also picked out my bridesmaid dresses and have informed my bridesmaids of all the necessary info. I just tried to put a picture in...but as you can see from my previous posts, I have yet to figure out how to do that. But I promise they are really cute...:) Oh and we also went to Men's Wearhouse and picked out the tuxes. It is so weird, this is all becoming real...and I can't wait!!!

Wanted to give a shout-out to Cindy...I know she won't comment, but I just wanted to say hello!

I'm Not Very Good At Keeping This Updated!!

So I am saying sorry now to all those who read my blog. It has been almost 2 weeks since I have posted. And I think according to my sister, that is some sort of cardinal sin of the blogging world. But I do have a somewhat good excuse. I am right smack dab in the middle of preseason for soccer. My life pretty much consists of sleeping, eating, and playing soccer. Although I did find time today to go home and enjoy a nice steak, bake potato, and broccoli courtesy of my little brother Scott's birthday (which was yesterday, the 10th). But anyways, there isn't really any new news on the wedding homefront. I have been watching Say Yes to the Dress recently and I can't believe some of the stuff I see on this show. Some girl wanted a dress that was $24,000. Yes, that's right. And her dad didn't want to pay that much so they sold her the dress as is (sold her the one that everyone tries on), even though the lace was ripped, for a little over $15,000. I don't know what I would do if I just had that kind of money laying around. But I can assure you I would not spend it on a dress I am going to wear once. And I apologize to anyone that spent a ridiculous amount of money on a wedding dress. I am not trying to offend you, I just don't agree with it myself. But let's be real, I think there may be one person (shout-out to my sister) that reads my blog anyways. So I think I'm in the clear! :) That's all for now, gotta rest up and get ready for practices galore tomorrow!!

Honeymooning!

I must tell you, looking for a place to honeymoon can be a bit overwhelming. And especially for us since we didn't really have a set destination in mind. My brother Andy told my to be overwhelmed at the enormous possibilities to honeymoon. And boy was he right. After a few trips to the travel agency...we have finally booked our honeymoon. We are going to this place called the Xpu-Ha Palace Resort about an hour outside Cancun, Mexico. I am pumped...and I know that Nathan is as well. We had to put down our deposit today and I had to go get a passport today. I feel like I spent a lot of money, and have nothing to show for it. lol. And we also have to buy Nathan a mattress that will eventually be ours, so being a grown-up is expensive!! But I am so happy and I cannot wait until Nathan and I can be married!!!
