4 Months!

I can't believe my baby girl is 4 months old already. I swear I have said that about each month that has gone by. Tinsley is now a little person. She is so much more mobile and less blob-like. She holds her head up like a champ, can roll over from her stomach to her back and can drool like nobody's business. She had her 4 month checkup earlier this week and weighs 14.2 lbs (70th percentile) and is 24.75 in long (75%). She did well while getting her shots but they kind of knocked her out of whack for a few days after. For the most part she is sleeping through the night and in general is such a happy baby! There is nothing that makes my heart smile more than when she smiles and giggles. Here are a few pictures from the last month...

3 Months

I can't believe Tinsley is already 3 months old. The time sure does fly with a little one. I love being able to stay home with her. It definitely has its challenges, but as soon as she smiles at me, all the challenges are forgotten. I love you baby girl!

Oh and I am so excited that my sister is having a baby!!!!! Yay!!!!!

2 Months Already!?!?

So I can't believe that it has already been 2 months since our sweet baby girl has come into our lives. She is such a joy and I don't remember what my life was like before she came along! This is me right before I had her!

As for Nathan, he is doing well! We just moved to O'Fallon, IL a couple weeks ago for his new job. He is the Recreation Programmer for the city of O'Fallon parks and recreation. It's hard being away from my immediate family, but I have tons of extended family in the area! It is wonderful to be so close to both my mom and dads families. As for me, I am blessed to be able to stay home with Tinsley. I'm afraid I haven't gotten everything unpacked yet, but it's so hard when you have a sweet baby to cuddle with! I promise I will try to do better about updating this, not sure if anyone reads it anyways. So long for now!

Peanut is Coming!

So I obviously have not done a great job of updating my blog. I can't believe how fast the time has gone! We are off to the hospital tomorrow night and should have a baby on Thursday! Don't get me wrong, I am extremely ready to not be pregnant anymore, but the fact that I am going to be a mom is a little terrifying. Well, here goes nothing!

Peanut is Growing!!

So since Nathan and I are not finding out the gender of baby McBeth, we will be calling him/ her Peanut until it pops out. That way we don't have to call it, it. So at the last appointment the heartbeat was 150 and everything else looked good. I even managed to gain back a few pounds since I lost 10 to begin with. We go back in 3 weeks to what would normally be the big gender reveal, but to us, we will just get a few pictures of Peanut. I am just looking forward to making sure eveyrthing is okay and Peanut is growing properly. I am still getting sick, but not as much as the first 16 weeks, so things are looking up! Here is my first belly picture. 17 weeks and 6 days :)

And Baby Makes Three!

I had really good intentions of making some really awesome posts. Really, I did. I went to Maine this summer to visit Nathan and we celebrated his grandmother's 95th birthday. We had a little party with lobster and everything. And I even took pictures with the intention of posting on here. Well, that never happened. So here we are present day. As you can see by the title of this post, Nathan and I are expecting!!! We feel very blessed and are so very excited. We have had two doctors appointments and have heard the heartbeat. Other than feeling pretty sick and nauseous, I am just super excited, and I will admit a little terrified. So I hope that I can do a better job of keeping this updated as I get further along in my pregnancy!

A Child's Innocence

I think I mentioned in a previous post about how my parents are awesome. I mean they really are. They have been foster parents to five siblings since October. There has been a lot of discussion lately on where the kids will live and with whom. I think we are all having a hard time with trying to figure out what is really the best situation for the kids. And let's be honest. It's not really up to us. I guess it's more of realizing that it's not really in our hands. Or the courts hands for that matter. It's in God's hands. He has put these five children into our lives for a reason. And no matter how long they are with us, or where they end up, it is all meant to be. Sometimes that is a hard concept for me to grasp. I am more worried about how these decisions will effect me. I just want what is best for these kids. Period. I wanted to give you an example of why these kids are amazing. Here is a conversation my 6 year old foster brother had with Chelsea (Scott's girlfriend/chauffeur/awesome person).

Chelsea: What do you want to be when you grow up?
Brother: Well...how do you even get a job?
C: Well there is this form you fill out, it's called an application.
B: But what happens if you don't have a car, how are you supposed to get to work?
C: You can take a bus. Or if it is close enough, you may be able to walk.
B: Do you think you have to speak Spanish to work at Los Portales?
C: No buddy I don't think you do.
B: Ok good. Then I want to work at Los Portales when I grow up!

Now anyone that knows our family knows that we like to eat at Los Portales. A lot. I wanted to cry when I heard this story. With all the decisions that are being made for the kids' futures, sometimes it takes something like this to make us stop, smile, and say a quick thanks to God. At the end of the day, it's not really in our hands anyways, is it?
